Why Fiji?

Be Different, Make a Difference

This is our chapter's motto. Each member takes this to heart and embodies these words. We are all individuals who come from unique backgrounds, who come together to better ourselves and our community at large. We are true to ourselves, true to our values, and true to who we strive to be.

Academics First

Beta Pi firmly believes that the fraternity should not come between its members and their academic success. The first responsibility of a college student is to achieve their highest academic excellence; support is offered via our Scholarship Chairman, who works with Brothers to seek out appropriate tutoring resources, build personalized strategies, and ensure that each member performs the best they can.

Scholarships

The Fraternity’s Educational Foundation offers over $340,000 in scholarships, which members can apply for right away. All men who achieve a 3.0 or better during their pledge semester will receive $250, as well as a $250 Match from our own scholarship fund. Our chapter also offers the Jason R Preston Scholarship every spring to the most deserving, well-rounded individuals of the chapter.

Leadership Development Opportunities

Our motto is “Building Courageous Leaders” for a reason; we believe that Phi Gamma Delta is a place where each member has the opportunity to graduate from college as a strong leader, ready to lead the charge of the upward march of humanity. Every January, brothers from all over North America gather for a three-day leadership academy to learn leadership skills, discuss chapter development, and share their best practices. Every January, our Fiji Leadership Academy is held in St. Louis, Missouri.

Brotherhood

Brotherhood unites every member of Phi Gamma Delta. The unique bond that we all share doesn't end when you leave college, but rather extends the rest of your life. The Brotherhood at our chapter is very strong. We enjoy time together playing video games, working on homework, watching movies, and much more. Brotherhood is accepting others for who they are, building each other up rather than tearing eachother down, and always aiding eachother.

Giving Back to our Local and Global Community

The Fraternity places a strong emphasis on serving others. Philanthropic projects are a major focus of activity for Phi Gamma Delta. Phi Gamma Delta’s International Philanthropy is The Red Cross. Beta Pi has helped at the Peoria Wildlife Prairie Park, First United Methodist Church, and with organizations on campus such as Thakkat.

Campus Housing

Phi Gamma Delta feels a chapter house provides an added benefit to the fraternity experience, and we are pleased that nearly 90 of our chapters live in some form of Greek housing. All new Fiji houses are alcohol-free facilities, this promotes academic excellence in a clean environment.

Recruitment Process

To be a member of Phi Gamma Delta is to become a Brother for Life. We at the Beta Pi Chapter Phi Gamma Delta take great pride and put forth a tireless effort to discover, recruit, and develop the best Bradley University has to offer.

The future of our fraternity is determined by the quality of men we recruit each year. This is why we search for scholarly men who represent our five values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence; who understand that their first responsibility is their academics, and do not underestimate the power of giving back.

We begin each academic year with Formal Recruitment, or Rush, seeking out men who are already interested in learning more about Greek Life at BU. For the remainder of the year, we focus our efforts on discovering new friends who we believe will not only enrich our fraternity but who will also benefit from becoming a Brother.
