Letter to Parents

Welcome to the Beta Pi Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta. The graduate and undergraduate brotherhood of Beta Pi welcomes you to Bradley University. We were founded at Bradley in 1982 and have been building better men ever since. The Beta Pi chapter is home to just over twenty undergraduate brothers who adhere to our fundamental core values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence.

The graduate brotherhood of the Beta Pi Chapter is comprised of over 180 brothers who all at one time have called Beta Pi their home at Bradley University. These graduate brothers continue to demonstrate great interest in our chapter and are always available to provide resources and support to undergraduate leadership and brothers.

The motto of Beta Pi is: Be Different, Make a Difference. This means we are all individuals who come from unique backgrounds, who come together to better ourselves and our community at large. We are true to ourselves, true to our values, and true to who we strive to be. Our events, interactions with others, and work ethic all exemplify.

The Beta Pi Chapter welcomes you. To those who may be a prospective brother or parents of rushees and/or parents of undergraduate brothers, always know that Beta Pi is a family of brothers who remain the closest of friends throughout their lives. The Beta Pi Chapter is more than a house; It is an enduring lifetime of brotherhood for all who experience our chapter.

Parents Club

The parents club is a group of current Beta Pi parents that work to assist our chapter in various ways. The members of this organization are parents of brothers who range from men recently joined our chapter to men who will be graduating soon.

If you are the parent of a current member wanting to join or your son is thinking of joining our chapter and you would like to reach out to current parents, please click the following link:

At Phi Gamma Delta we value academic excellence above everything else. A saying we have within the fraternity is Scholarhip - Fraternity - Self. This means that we put academic work above all else, including any fraternity event or task. To this end we have various efforts in place within our chapter to ensure all members achieve the highest academics possible.

Academics

As stated above we take academics very seriously and have many measures in place to help members in their academic efforts. Per semester, we have an internal scholarship competition where members are placed into teams and at the end of the semester the team with the highest average G.P.A. will be awarded a gift card.

Besides this, we also have graduate brothers that come in and teach various workshops on test-taking strategies, note taking, and time management. Should a member not perform as highly as they should the pervious semester or if a member is underperforming in the current semester, they will be asked to attend Bradley held workshops and a follow up meeting with our Scholarship Committee.

Scholarships

Phi Gamma Delta offers various scholarships for members and non members rewarded for strong academic performance.

AAA Scholarship

The Foundation's Triple A is a $250 scholarship available to any newly initiated member of Phi Gamma Delta who earn a 3.2 GPA during their pledging semester. Beta Pi graduates graciously double this scholarship for a total of $500.

Jason R. Preston Scholarship

The Jason R. Preston Beta Pi Scholarship is given each year to the qualified undergraduate member of the Beta Pi Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta who best exemplifies the saying “Scholarship, Fraternity, Self.” This scholarship is a total of $1750 awarded once a year at Beta Pi's annual Frank Norris Pig Dinner.

Honorary Scholarship

Once a semester Beta Pi creates a scholarship for any Bradley student who exemplifies maintaining a high GPA while being actively involved in extracurriculars. This is a $250 scholarship.
